How to Glue Wheels and Road Wheels for Paper Models

Wheels for paper cars, road wheels for tanks and other cylindrical parts can be tricky to glue. They often come in large numbers and have many tabs to cut out. Here is one method in which the tabs are removed and the edges are glued directly together.
First, cut out the part you need. Then remove its tabs; they are not used in this method. We find wheels and road wheels easier to assemble without them.
Colour the cut edges and roll the piece into a cylinder. Our article Rolling Paper Cylinders of Any Size explains how to form a cylinder.
Now find an object with about the same diameter as your paper cylinder. An ordinary battery worked well for us. Bottle caps, pens and markers are other possibilities.
Slip the paper cylinder over the object. This helps it keep the correct shape while you attach its end disc.
Finally, glue the end disc to the cylinder. Because the tabs are gone, join the edges directly. After applying the glue, press the disc into place while the cylinder is still on your chosen support. The part is ready; you can move on to the next one.
