Text recognition converts a scan or photograph of a magazine page into editable text. You can use dedicated software or online OCR services such as Convertio OCR and Img2txt.
Use a high-resolution image with sharp text. Blurred or low-resolution scans make recognition much less reliable.
Online translators can help translate the recognised text into your language. We use Google Translate, Microsoft Translator, DeepL and Yandex Translate. Their versions may differ, so comparing them can clarify difficult passages.
The basic process is the same in each service: paste the text into the translation box and review the result. Quality depends greatly on the subject matter.
Review is often the longest stage. Machine translation may leave a word untranslated, choose the wrong meaning or produce awkward grammar. Look up individual words in context and compare alternative meanings. If a word remains unclear, use the surrounding instructions and illustrations to work out what it means.
This approach will not produce a literary translation, but it can make an unfamiliar magazine article clear enough to understand what goes where and why. Sometimes it is the only practical option if you do not know the language.
For assembly, the important points are the order in which parts are joined, the model's special features and any extra materials needed. Once these are clear, you can build the paper or card model with much greater confidence.
